Hi everyone, it’s Oprah.
So my parents got engaged while they were in the Greece over the holidays last year.
They didn’t bring me with them but they called me on FaceTime.

It’s fine, I’m fine.
They have both been home A LOT this year, which is weird, but I’m not complaining.
In July, they decided to take a road trip to Washington and this time, they brought me along! They said they were getting married and I was their special and only guest.
We did the whole trip in an electric car!
Along the way, we slept inside of a train…
…and in an Airstream…
we wore our masks, saw lots of mountains and blue skies…

and I met a donkey! The drive took four days but we finally made it to…
(the donkey)
The North Cascades in Washington.
We stayed in a cabin, on a lake.
On our second day at the cabin, mommy woke up when it was still dark outside (which I didn’t appreciate) to put on makeup for the first time in months. They kept saying it was a wedding day, which I didn’t understand but they both looked very fancy and made me look fancy too.
After their sunrise ceremony, we did what they called “the big hike” for sunset. It was a 7.2mile hike up to 6,500ft elevation.
I didn’t like riding in the backpack so I lead them all the way to the top on foot.
As we got close to the top, it became what we called “Mosquito-Gate.” This was a special time of year for this hike because what was once covered in snow and glaciers from the past winter was now melting, creating small streams and waterfalls and a super-bloom of wildflowers all around.
However, as the snow melts, there are also small puddles of water, providing a perfect window of time for mosquitos to lay their eggs and then hatch. We learned about all of this very quickly. If you look closely in the film, you will see the one or two (thousand) mosquitos flying around us!
I had to seek shelter.
It was still the most beautiful hike we have ever done. One that we will never forget.

Then we hurried back down the mountain for several hours in near total darkness.
I was exhausted. Maybe leave me at home next time.
Safety:
Although we had an incredibly enjoyable two weeks on the road, we took every precaution to travel safely during the pandemic. With the exception of purchasing food to eat in the car, we never came into contact with another person on our road trip. We always made sure to disinfect all of our accommodations and always wore masks outside of the car. Our entire wedding day was outdoors, both our photographer and videographer were masked the entire day and we only removed our masks when taking photos. Jess did her own hair and makeup so she wouldn’t have to be in contact with anyone; she practiced for months! We both took Covid tests upon returning home. We take the spread of the virus very serious and hope that everyone else in our family does too!
